Crunchyroll Launches Korean Drama Streaming Service

20 Feb, 2014 By: Chris Tribbey

Anime streaming service Crunchyroll has launched a new streaming service dedicated to Korean dramas and other Korean programs.

Currently in beta testing, KDrama (kdrama.com) is available to current Crunchyroll subscribers and will be launched to the public in the next few weeks. The content will have English subtitles, will be ad-supported and launches in North America first. Crunchyroll will also offer a premium subscription option.

The content lineup includes primetime Korean drama shows from Korean broadcast networks KBS, MBC, SBS and CJ E&M, exclusive content offerings, and thousands of hours of new and catalog titles. Some titles will stream the same day they air in Korea.

“We are focused on serving new and avid fans by bringing them the best and most complete content offerings,” said Crunchyroll founder and CEO Kun Gao of KDrama. “We are excited to provide exclusive beta access of KDrama to our existing Crunchyroll subscribers at no charge, and we are always looking for more opportunities to bring additional value to our most loyal members.”
