Cinedigm Enters OTT Partnership With TV4 Entertainment

9 Feb, 2015 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Cinedigm Feb. 9 announced it has entered into a partnership with TV4 Entertainment for the development of over-the-top video platforms.

The partnership will mine Cinedigm’s library to program streaming channels distributed through TV4 Entertainment's digital platforms across 100 million domestic households.

The OTT service will initially focus on the preschool, kids and tween space, while also evaluating other targeted channels that can be quickly launched to serve avid niche audiences.

Los Angeles-based Cinedigm, which distributes independent movies across physical and digital channels, has recently upped its digital profile to include niche OTT services, including Docurama, dedicated to documentaries; ConTv, a comic convention-themed channel in partnership with Wizard World bowing in March, and the Dove Foundation faith and family channel launching in mid-2015.

"Our plan is to create a diversified portfolio of digital networks, launching several narrowcast channels each with a customized business model that maximizes the potential for success,” Cinedigm CEO Chris McGurk said in a statement.

TV4 Entertainment will add Cinedigm to its list of broadband television network partners and networks. With plans to reach 30 networks by the end of 2015, networks under the Cinedigm agreement will include the All Warrior Network, Throwback Television, the Undisputed Champion Network, Motorland and The Clairity Project, in addition to pending networks on drones, space and soccer, among others.

The first channel under this partnership is expected to launch later this year.
