CBS All Access Going Global

7 Aug, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

CBS Aug. 7 announced it is expanding subscription streaming service CBS All Access internationally through a partnership of its CBS Interactive and CBS Studios International divisions.

All Access will launch initially in Canada in the first half of 2018, with other markets to follow.

"All Access is growing faster than we anticipated domestically, and now represents a whole new opportunity internationally as well," Leslie Moonves, CEO of CBS Corp., said in a statement. "By going direct-to-consumer around the world, we will facilitate new connections between the global audience and our premium content."

All Access launched in 2014 for $5.99 monthly ($9.99 for no commercials) and is slated to have 8 million combined subscribers with Showtime OTT by 2020. CBS just disclosed it would have 4 million All Access subs by the end of the year.

The SVOD has more than 9,000 episodes on demand, including current shows from primetime, daytime and late night, as well as past seasons of select series and catalog TV shows, in addition to its growing slate of original programming.

All Access is currently available online at CBS.com, on mobile devices via the CBS App for iOS, Android and Windows 10, and on Roku Players, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Fire TV.
