BritBox to Stream Lost 'Doctor Who' Episodes

25 Jul, 2017 By: John Latchem

BritBox, the streaming service from BBC Worldwide and ITV specializing in British programming, in September will begin premiering several “lost” episodes of classic sci-fi series “Doctor Who” that have not been seen in years.

Several episodes from the early seasons of the show, which debuted in 1963, were thought to be lost in the years since their debut as television networks cleaned out archives in an era when preservation wasn’t much of a consideration. Many of these episodes have turned up through various means, though for some only the audio exists. Many of these episodes have been re-constructed using still photos from the episodes. BritBox previewed the reconstructed episode “The Wheel in Space” at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con International.
