April Fools? Hulu Bows 'Hu' for Time-Challenged Viewers

31 Mar, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

In an era of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and fake news, Hulu March 31 announced the launch of “Hu,” a new service that enables users to watch entire TV series in less than five minutes. Individual episodes can be streamed in eight seconds or until boredom strikes.

The new service gives viewers the opportunity to catch up on series, end spoiler alerts and join in on the conversation, without spending the hundreds of hours it takes to stay in-the-know.

Episodes of critically acclaimed series including “Seinfeld,” “Empire,” “The Mindy Project,” “Shut Eye” and “The Path” are all now available to stream in the flash of an eye at www.hulu.com/hu.

Hulu’s team of engineers developed the service based on recent scientific research that found people generally lose concentration on anything after eight seconds — just like goldfish.

“With Hu, I was able to watch the entire 'Seinfeld' season about nothing standing in line at Starbucks,” said 24-year-old viewer Jessica T, — who has taken the technology to heart by eliminating the remaining time-consuming letters from her last name.
