Apple TV Gets CNBC

CNBC July 29 announced its CNBC TV Everywhere app is now available on Apple TV — the first NBC Universal property on the streaming device.

At a time of burgeoning over-the-top video services and subscription streaming, TV Everywhere is an ongoing multichannel video program distribution (MVPD) campaign intended to lure and retain subscribers by offering on-demand access to bundled programming on connected devices.

The CNBC app enables authenticated MVPD viewers to watch live and catch-up video from the channel’s programming, including “Mad Money With Jim Cramer,” “Business Day,” “Closing Bell,” “Squawk Box,” “The Profit,” “American Greed” and “The Suzie Orman Show,” among others, on connected TVs.

Apple TV users now have a robust offering of the day’s top, latest and most-popular business day video news clips as well as editorially curated playlists of the day’s major stories from CNBC. Additionally, users will have access to a complete network schedule.

“Apple TV is the first, full-featured CNBC TV Everywhere experience viewers have on a TV-connected device, further advancing NBC Universal’s commitment to making authenticated content accessible to consumers anytime, anywhere,” Alison Moore, EVP and GM of NBC Universal TV Everywhere, said in a statement.
