Apple TV Gets ACC Channel

18 Mar, 2014 By: Chris Tribbey

In time for the start of the NCAA college basketball tournament, Apple TV users will have access to a new channel from ACC Digital Network — ACC Sports.

The channel will feature game highlights, ACC conference programing, and daily in-depth coverage and analysis. ACC basketball greats Drew Barry and JR Reid will follow the progress of ACC teams during the tournament with game previews, analysis and a “Road to Texas” feature series.

"We are pleased to announce this partnership that will allow our fans access to the ACC Digital Network on their Apple TV,” said ACC commissioner John Swofford. “We have seen terrific success in fans enjoying the ACC Digital Network, and bringing this content to Apple TV is an exciting next step."

The Apple TV channel will include access to Campus Insiders, a digital college sports network covering all major NCAA conferences. The channel will cover the NCAA basketball postseason with daily reports, and already includes previews of all 68 teams selected for the tournament.

“Our goal since we launched the ACC Digital Network is to deliver ACC fans immediate access to their school video highlights wherever they want to watch it,” said Dana Golden, EVP of strategic partnerships for ACC Digital Network. “Through Apple TV, fans will be able to go directly to their favorite school content and have all of their game highlights, school features and classic tournament games on demand in the comfort of their living room. In addition, our partnership with Campus Insiders will give fans access to college highlights and news from schools across the country for a comprehensive view of the college sports landscape.”
