‘Lost’ Season Finale Top Among TV.com Viewers

The May 13 season finale of ABC TV serial “Lost” ranked No. 1 as the most-anticipated network cliffhanger, according to an online poll by TV.com.

The show about a group of survivors from an airline crash on a remote island tallied more than 121,000 votes, besting slated May 14 season finales of Fox TV’s “Bones” (73,000 votes) and The CW’s “Supernatural” with nearly 49,000 votes. Others included “Criminal Minds” (nearly 48,000 votes) and “24” with 37,000 votes.

San Francisco-based TV.com — owned by CBS Corp. — is enmeshed with Hulu.com in a quest for online eyeballs for the nascent ad-supported repurposed television programming market.

In March, TV.com posted a 401% increase in unique viewers, 153% increase in video streams and 117% increase in minutes month-over-month, according to comScore. The site also posted increases in year-over-year unique viewers (1,766%), minutes (2,314%) and streams (2,640%).

“The Web offers so much more than just rebroadcast television content,” said Jeff Clark, VP with TV.com. “It gives fans a place where they can find content that enhances the viewing experience and connect with other like-minded fans to talk about their favorite shows.”
