Twilight Time inks deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for limited DVD and Blu-ray Disc catalog releases earmarked for the collector
Twilight Time reportedly has added titles from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Operating under the Twilight Time banner and available at www.screenarchives.com, initial Columbia releases include 1961 science fiction-fantasy thriller Mysterious Island, Nov. 8, followed Dec. 13 by the original Fright Night (1985), the horror-comedy cult film written and directed by Tom Holland and starring Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowall, according to Blu-ray.com.
New releases, which include an eight-page companion booklet with essays, stills and poster art, are slated for the first Tuesday of each month.
“Our collaboration with Twilight Time will allow us to make available for Blu-ray release some of our library's most collectible titles in a way fans have been asking for: restored and re-mastered with attention to detail and quality,” said Grover Crisp, EVP for asset management, film restoration and digital mastering with SPHE.
Twilight Time launched last year bowing limited edition DVD and Blu-ray Disc movies from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Co-founded by veteran Warner Home Video executive Brian Jamieson, the specialty label features more than 3,000 titles.
