BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Guests of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment were treated to a 3D screening of the hit animated film Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, a free turkey and, of course, plenty of meatballs, Nov. 17 at Clarity Theater.

The event was held in conjunction with Feeding America, with Sony donating turkeys to the hunger-relief charity group. Each family that attended the screening also received a free turkey, in advance of Thanksgiving.

“Tangy” was how Los Angeles resident Lea Kaplan described the meatballs served at the event. “My friend’s really been looking forward to seeing this. Looks like a cute movie.”

Marco, 9, and Dario, 8, came with their mother and hadn’t seen the film yet. It pulled in $122 million at the domestic box office. “Can’t wait to see it. He keeps talking about it,” Marco said of his brother.

On Jan. 5, SPHE will make Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs its first Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo release, with single and two-disc DVD and PSP versions also available. The Blu-ray combo pack and two-disc DVD offerings include behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, a music video and interactive sing-a-long, and a “Food Fight” game. The Blu-ray will also feature a “Splat Mode” where viewers can throw food at the screen while they watch the movie.
