In quirky western The Last Rites of Ransom Pride, prostitute Juliette Flowers (Lizzy Caplan from TV’s “Party Down” and “True Blood”) seeks to retrieve the body of deceased outlaw/boyfriend Ransom Pride (Scott Speedman), which is being held in Mexico by Bruja (Cote de Pablo from “NCIS”), a mysterious woman with a grudge.

Juliette then decides to trade Pride’s unsuspecting younger brother Champ (Jon Foster) to Bruja for Ransom’s body — a strategy that, not surprisingly, doesn’t sit well with the young men’s father (Dwight Yoakam), a flawed preacher who assembles an armed posse in pursuit.

Talk about twisted love.

Both sides of this dysfunctional equation are well represented, including Jason Priestley (“Beverly Hills 90210”) as psychopath bounty hunter John: “We killed every man, we killed every child, we killed every goddamn dog!” Meanwhile Kris Kristofferson plays a crusty Civil War vet with a penchant for topless lesbians and mumbled one-liners.

In the end, Caplan undeniably blazes a sexy trail few high plains drifters ever have.
