Projections: 'Wolverine' Looks To Dominate

9 Dec, 2013 By: John Latchem

The week ending Dec. 8 is likely to be dominated by Fox’s The Wolverine, which earned $132.6 million at the domestic box office — less than the other “X-Men” movies but more than any other new release for the week.

The second-biggest title of the week is Sony Pictures’ The Smurfs 2, a live-action family comedy with CG-versions of the famed blue characters. The film earned just more than $71 million at U.S. theaters.

With Wolverine embargoed at Redbox, Smurfs 2 should top the rental chart.
