Projections: 'Taken 2' Ready to Take Off
21 Jan, 2013 By: John Latchem
The top new home video release for the week ending Jan. 20 was undoubtedly 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Taken 2, the actioner starring Liam Neeson that took in $139.5 million at the domestic box office. The sequel should easily top the overall disc and Blu-ray sales charts.
On the rental chart, Taken 2 is affected by a 28-day kiosk embargo. Universal’s Pitch Perfect is coming off its holdback period and could top the rental chart due to a lack of wider availability of other new releases at rental outlets.
