Projections: 'Star Trek Beyond' Ready to Take Command of Disc Sales

7 Nov, 2016 By: John Latchem

Paramount's Star Trek Beyond is expected to debut at No. 1 on the home video charts the week ending Nov. 6.

The third movie in the rebooted "Star Trek" film franchise earned $158.8 million at the domestic box office, lowest among the three films but tops among other new releases for the past few weeks.

Also looking for a big home video debut is Universal's Bad Moms, a lauded comedy that earned $113 million at U.S. theaters.

On the weekly rental chart, Star Trek Beyond should easily debut at No. 1. Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse is among the titles new to Redbox kiosks after a month-long studio-imposed rental delay.
