Projections: 'Spider-Man' Swings In
12 Nov, 2012 By: John Latchem
Though it came out on a Friday (Nov. 9) and had only a couple of days to impact the sales charts, Sony Pictures' The Amazing Spider-Man shouldn't have much trouble debuting on top. The film earned $262 million at the domestic box office and is the highest-profile new release to hit in several weeks.
Another notable new release is Sony's Arthur Christmas, hitting disc almost a year after it played in theaters to a $46 million cume. The longer-than-usual home video window is timed to take advantage of the upcoming holiday season.
On the rental chart, Fox's Prometheus should emerge from its kiosk embargo to take the No. 1 spot. Amazing Spider-Man's rental performance will likely be dampened by having fewing days in the market during the reporting period.
