Projections: Slow Period Could Give 'Interstellar' Third Week on Top20 Apr, 2015 By: John Latchem
Another week without any blockbuster films heading to home video could pave the way for Paramount's Interstallar to top the home video sales charts for a third time the week ending April 19. Warner's The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies could also hold onto a top spot a month after its release.
The top new titles vying for a top spot include Warner's animated Batman vs. Robin, Anchor Bay's Tim Burton-directed Big Eyes, which grossed $14.5 million in U.S. theaters, and Fox's horror sequel The Woman in Black 2, which earned $26.5 million at the U.S. box office.
The rental chart, however, should see the emergence of several titles coming off a 28-day embargo at Redbox, including Fox's Exodus: Gods and Kings and DreamWorks Animation's Penguins of Madagascar.
