Projections: 'Roommate' Eyes Top Spot

23 May, 2011 By: John Latchem

With a crop of mid-range box office performers released on disc May 17, no clear favorite emerges as to which title will rise to No. 1 on the sales chart. The most likely contender among the newcomers is Sony Pictures’ thriller The Roommate ($37.3 million box office), though Paramount’s Justin Bieber: Never Say Never could repeat in the top spot if the boy crooner’s hordes of teeny-bopper fans haven’t already picked up the disc.

The Roommate should have an easier time debuting near the top of the rental chart.
