Projections: ‘Potter’ Leading the Fantasy Pack

18 Apr, 2011 By: John Latchem

For the second week in a row, a fantasy film debuted on disc on a Friday. Despite having fewer days to track sales, Warner’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 should be able to snatch the top spot on the sales charts.

The previous week’s Friday release, Fox’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, should settle into second its first full week in stores, after debuting amid a crowded field.

However, with both titles subjected to 28-day kiosk and Netflix embargoes, Sony Pictures’ newcomer Country Strong should emerge as the top rental.
