Projections: Post Valentine’s Day Viewers Want Action

By : Kelly Burner | Posted: 22 Feb 2010

With Valentine’s Day past and romance drifting away, consumers are ready for a thrilling actioner to blow away their rose-colored glasses.

That’s why the Jamie Foxx/Gerard Butler thriller Law Abiding Citizen is perfectly poised to explode into first place on the national top sellers and rentals charts. Released by Anchor Bay Feb. 16, Law Abiding Citizen raked in more than $73 million in domestic theaters alone.

Other films that streeted during the week ended Feb. 21 include the Sony Pictures biopic Coco Before Chanel ($6 million), which chronicles the rise to superstardom of one of the most notorious fashion designers of all time, and Lionsgate’s documentary Good Hair ($4 million), in which comedian Chris Rock investigates the African-American obsession with “good” hair.

I already bought LAC, it was only $9 on Amazon also got Gamer and qualified for free S&H so was 25.98 for the 2 of them--didn't think that was too bad. Anyone out there that can get info on projects Gerry is looking at--I am interested in who is going to get the lead in a movie based on a book by Vince Flynn called "Consent to Kill"--hoping for Gerry to play the lead a black ops asassin called Mitch Rapp--he's a big hero among the readers and it would be perfect for GB--we know who is directing but can't get an answer on who the lead is--a lot of speculation and Brad Pitt has been mentioned but fans of the book really really don't think he fits the part at all.
