Projections: 'Olympus Has Fallen' to Rise

19 Aug, 2013 By: John Latchem

The latest high-profile theatrical to make its way to home video is Sony Pictures’ Olympus Has Fallen, the most popular “bad guys take over the White House” movie of the year with a $99 million domestic gross. It joins the fray among recent top sellers Oblivion and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which will continue to chart highly due to a relative lack of competition.

On the rental chart, Olympus Has Fallen may be hampered by availability issues at certain brick-and-mortar outlets, allowing Warner’s 42, coming off its 28-day holdback at Redbox, to emerge on top.
