Projections: 'Lone Survivor' Taking on 'God' and 'RoboCop'9 Jun, 2014 By: John Latchem
With the beginning of June, the stream of top-tier titles is starting to pick up again. The top contender for the top spot for the week ending June 8 is Universal's military drama Lone Survivor, which grossed $125.1 million in U.S. theaters, far higher than all the other new releases in the week.
Other titles which should finish in a high spot include Fox's RoboCop remake and the studio's faith-based Son of God. HBO's sixth season disc of "True Blood" should also perform well.
On the rental chart, the new releases are from studios that delay titles to Redbox, so the previous top titles should hold steady near the top, including Sony Pictures' The Monuments Men.
