Projections: 'Jack' Looks to Slay the Charts24 Jun, 2013 By: John Latchem
The latest spring tentpole making its way to home video is Warner’s Jack the Giant Slayer, a 3D fantasy that earned $65.19 million in U.S. theaters. While it’s the biggest of the new releases hitting shelves June 18, it will face its biggest competition from strong holdovers, such as Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful and Paramount’s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, the latter of which should continue to perform well on the rental chart.
Another title looking to find an audience on home video is Anchor Bay’s Quartet, a Dustin Hoffman-directed drama that earned $18.36 million in U.S. theaters.
