Projections: It's 'Down' vs. 'Ups' For Top Debut11 Nov, 2013 By: John Latchem
Sony Pictures has two new releases that will contend for the top disc sales spot for the week ending Nov. 10, in the form of White House Down and Grown Ups 2.
Either could debut at No. 1 — Grown Ups 2 holds the box office edge ($133.5 million to $73.1 million), while White House Down has received more retail hype. What remains to be seen is how the newcomers will fare against a strong potential holdover such as Disney’s Monsters University.
The rental chart should see a surge from Warner’s The Hangover Part III now that its kiosk embargo is over.
