Projections: 'IDR' Looks to Take Advantage of Slow Week

31 Oct, 2016 By: John Latchem

Fox's Independence Day: Resurgence could be the beneficiary of good timing, with its second week overlapping a modest slate of new releases, putting it in position to top the disc sales charts again the week ended Oct. 30.

Sony Pictures' Ghostbusters: Answer The Call could also take advantage of the situation to hold onto a top chart spot.

The highest-profile new releases include Warner's Lights Out, with $67.3 million at the domestic box office, and Lionsgate's Nerve, with $38.6 million.

On the rental chart, Warner's Central Intelligence and Fox's Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates come off their 28-day holdback at Redbox kiosks and should take over the top spots.
