Projections: A 'Grey' Area for This 'Chronicle'21 May, 2012 By: John Latchem
Among the May 15 new releases, the top seller will likely be either Universal’s The Grey or Fox’s Chronicle. The $64.5 million domestic box office take of Chronicle outpaced The Grey’s $51.6 million, but the star power of the latter film, which features Liam Neeson, should give it the edge on home video.
Other contenders include the Katherine Heigl vehicle One for the Money ($26.4 million), from Lionsgate, and Paramount’s The Devil Inside, a horror sleeper with a $53.3 million box office haul.
Kiosk embargoes give Money the edge on rentals.
