Projections: 'Frozen' Set to Dominate Charts24 Mar, 2014 By: John Latchem
Disney’s Frozen will easily top the home video sales charts the week ending March 23. The hugely popular animated title, which grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office, sold more than 3 million units from preorders and first-day sales, according to Disney.
Sony Pictures’ American Hustle is poised to debut in the No. 2 spot, if it can overcome Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which will be coming off its second full week on shelves.
Frozen’s huge sales popularity means consumers aren’t renting it as much, paving the way for American Hustle or Catching Fire to top the rental chart.
