Projections: Freezing Out 'Wall Street'

31 Mar, 2014 By: John Latchem

Under normal circumstances, Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street would be in a prime position to top the sales charts in its debut week. The Martin Scorsese film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and grossed $116.8 million in U.S. theaters.

However, the film has to contend with the second week of Disney’s Frozen, which shows little sign of slowing down after a huge first week that saw it sell close to 3.5 million copies on disc.

On the rental chart, Warner’s Gravity comes off its 28-day holdback and Redbox and looks to jump into the top spot. Wolf of Wall Street should also find intself in a top rental spot.
