Projections: 'Frankenweenie' Seeks Success
14 Jan, 2013 By: John Latchem
The new year has yielded a slew of new releases looking to freshen up shelves after a long holiday season, any number of which have the potential to top the sales charts for the week ending Jan. 13.
The best bet seems to be Disney’s Frankenweenie, the latest stop-motion animated film from Tim Burton. Though it grossed only $34.8 million at the domestic box office, its family appeal should buoy it in the short term.
Sony Pictures’ Looper looks to repeat atop the rental chart, though Universal’s Ted and The Bourne Legacy are coming off their rental embargoes.
