Projections: 'Epic' Looks to Make Impression

26 Aug, 2013 By: John Latchem

The animated adventure Epic, from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, is poised to take over the sales charts for the week ending Aug. 25. The film, which should have a strong family appeal, grossed $107.2 million at the domestic box office.

Most of the other new releases for the week were marginal theatrical performers and TV titles, so holdover titles such as Sony Pictures’ Olympus Has Fallen and Universal’s Oblivion should remain high on the chart.

With Epic delayed for rent at Redbox, Olympus Has Fallen should repeat atop the rental chart.
