Projections: 'Chappie' Coming Alive

22 Jun, 2015 By: John Latchem

Several titles will be vying for the top spot on the disc sales chart the week ending June 21, though the one getting the most retail attention is Sony Pictures' Chappie. The film is from the same director as District 9 and Elysium, though it earned just $31.57 million in U.S. theaters.

The most notable other title that's new in the week is Warner's Run All Night, the latest thriller starring Liam Neeson, which grossed $26.46 million domestically.

Both will have to fend off a strong second week from Fox's Kingsman: The Secret Service, which topped the chart the week before.

On the rental chart, Warner's American Sniper comes off its 28-day holdback at Redbox and should move to the top, outpacing new release Chappie.
