Projections: 'Butler' Eyes a Place on Charts

20 Jan, 2014 By: John Latchem

Some of the major theatrical titles from the end of 2013 are starting to make their way to disc, and among the Jan. 14 releases, Anchor Bay’s The Butler has the best odds of debuting atop the disc sales charts after earning $116.4 million at the domestic box office.

Universal’s Riddick should come in at a strong No. 2 after earning $42 million in U.S. theaters.

On the rental chart, The Butler should also find itself at No. 1, while Fox’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters comes off its 28-day holdback at Redbox.
