Projections: 'The Bible' Seeks to Spread the Word8 Apr, 2013 By: John Latchem
After a flurry of hot new releases to close out the first quarter, studios took a step back the first week of April, with the biggest new release being Fox’s Blu-ray and DVD of The Bible: The Epic Miniseries.
The highly rated program concluded on TV just two days before its April 2 street date, so intense interest and a lack of new competition should help it secure a high chart spot. Holdovers such as DreamWorks’ Lincoln and Universal’s Les Misérables should continue to perform well.
The only ripple on the rental chart will be the rise of Fox’s Red Dawn after the end of its 28-day kiosk embargo.
