Projections: 'Beauty and the Beast' Set to Dominate Home Video Sales

12 Jun, 2017 By: John Latchem

Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast should easily top the home video sales charts the week ending June 11.

The musical re-telling of the classic 1991 animated film earned $502.9 million at the domestic box office and leads a slate of new releases for the week that doesn't offer much to compete with it.

The biggest title otherwise is also from Disney, the Blu-ray re-release of 1942's Bambi as part of the new "Signature Collection," with the film available on Digital HD for the first time to mark its 75th anniversary.

On the weekly rental chart, Warner's Fist Fight is tracking to take over No. 1 after a week-long holdback from Redbox rental kiosks. Warner recently altered its distribution deal with the kiosk vendor to reduce delays on new releases from 28 days to seven.
