Projections: 'Avengers' Aims to Stay on Top

12 Oct, 2015 By: John Latchem

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron will look to hold onto the top spot on the disc sales chart the week ending Oct. 11, its first full week in stores.

The superhero movie, which is distributed by Disney, easily debuted at No. 1 after a Friday release gave it just three days to generate sales instead of the usual six for new releases.

It still has to hold off debuts for a couple of disc releases for sequels that should do well in their own right: Warner's Magic Mike XXL and Sony Pictures' Insidious: Chapter 3.

Ultron's popularty is also likely to propel it to the top of the rental charts for the week.
