Projections: ‘Prince of Persia’ Should Reign

20 Sep, 2010 By: Kelly Burner

Disney Sept. 14 released the action-adventure Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time ($90.7 million), based on the popular video game franchise and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ben Kingsley. Additionally, Summit released the romantic movie Letters to Juliet, which stars Amanda Seyfried and raked in more than $53 million in theaters. Lastly, Fox came out with the romantic comedy Just Wright, starring Common and Queen Latifah.

Of the bunch, the sure hit is going to be Disney’s Prince of Persia, which should land in first place on the major national charts.

Also released the week ended Sept. 19 were a number of TV DVDs: Warner came out with season three of “The Big Bang Theory” and season two of “Fringe”; Fox came out with season one of “Glee” and season five of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” while Disney released season six of “Grey’s Anatomy.” All should perform admirably on the national sales chart.
