Projections: ‘Book of Eli’ Should Be Top Seller

21 Jun, 2010 By: Kelly Burner

The title with the highest box office released on disc June 15 was the Denzel Washington thriller The Book of Eli from Warner, which raked in nearly $95 million in domestic theaters. Also out June 15 was the romantic comedy When in Rome from Disney, which earned $32.7 million during its theatrical run, and Youth in Revolt, the Sony Pictures comedy starring Superbad’s Michael Cera, which earned just over $15 million in theaters.

Of the group of new releases, The Book of Eli should perform best, taking the number one sales spot from holdover Alice in Wonderland. Meanwhile, on the top rental charts, When in Rome may be able to take first position.
