Good things really do come in threes. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment scored big with High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the third installment in its monstrously successful series of musicals aimed at young people.

Senior Year, the first in the franchise with a theatrical pedigree ($90.6 million gross), easily topped the national home video sales chart its first week in stores, finishing well ahead of a trio of other theatrically released new feature films with double-digit box office grosses.

Body of Lies ($39.4 million), from Warner, debuted at No. 3 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for the week ended Feb. 22, with Universal Studios’ critically hailed Changeling ($35.7) bowing at No. 4.

The Sony Pictures horror film Quarantine ($31.7 million) entered the chart at No. 5.

The previous week’s top seller, Paramount/DreamWorks’ Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, slipped to No. 2.

In rental stores, High School Musical 3 didn’t make nearly as big a splash as it did at the sales counter, bowing at No. 17 on Home Media Magazine’s rental chart for the week.

Body of Lies, a Ridley Scott-helmed thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, was the week’s top rental, followed at No. 2 by Changeling, which generated plenty of Oscar buzz for star Angelina Jolie’s best actress nomination.

Quarantine debuted at No. 4 on the rental chart, right behind Warner’s Nights in Rodanthe, the previous week’s top rental.

On the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray Disc chart, Body of Lies debuted at No. 1, with High School Musical 3: Senior Year bowing at No. 2 and Quarantine debuting at No. 3.
