Walt Disney Studios’ home entertainment behemoth Frozen has been temporarily topped in the United Kingdom by Paramount Home Media Distribution’s  Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, according to the latest Official Charts Co. data through May 4.

Frozen, which is Disney’s top-selling Blu-ray title, has stood atop the British home entertainment retail chart since its debut five weeks ago. Anchorman 2, which continues the zany chronicles of TV newsman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), was launched in British retail channels April 28.

Anchorman 2 sold 89,000 discs, compared with 79,000 discs for Frozen. The animated blockbuster has now sold more than 1.6 million discs in the United Kingdom, according to unit figures from Cue Entertainment.

The third spot went to chart newcomer American Hustle (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment), with the Oscar-nominated film selling 73,000 discs. Warner Home Video’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug finished down two spots in fourth. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom finished fifth in its first week on the chart.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Lionsgate) slipped two spots to sixth; The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Fox) dropped five places to seventh; Captain Phillips (Sony) moved up two spots to eighth; Warner's Gravity dropped three spots to ninth and Walking With Dinosaurs: The Movie (Fox) fell five spots to 10th.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug remains Britain’s top-selling Blu-ray title year-to-date with 342,000 units sold from a total of nearly 1 million discs (including DVD) sold.
