Analytics Pegs 'Narcos' as Top Netflix Show in September

9 Oct, 2017 By: John Latchem

Media tracking firm Parrot Analytics' "Demand Expressions" tracking of subscription streaming content has determined "Narcos" was the most popular show on Netflix in September.

According to data presented by Parrot Analytics in The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix's No. 2 show in the month was "Stranger Things," followed by "Ozark," "Orange Is the New Black" and Marvel's "The Defenders."

For Amazon Video, the top shows from one to five are "The Man in the High Castle," "The Tick," "The Grand Tour," "Transparent" and "Comrade Detective."

The top Hulu show was "The Handmaid's Tale," which recently won the Emmy for Best Drama Series. No. 2 was the miniseries 11.22.63, followed by "The Path," "Chance" and "Harlots."

Based on a Stephen King novel, 11.22.63 was released in February 2016, but could have picked up some recent momentum thanks to the theatrical success of It, another King adaptation.
