Redbox Kiosk Plant Closing

29 Jan, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

Flextronics America is closing its Creedmoor, N.C., assembly plant, where a majority of Redbox kiosks have been constructed since 2004.

“It is always difficult to initiate a facility closure,” said Flextronics spokeswoman Renee Brotherton. “This decision was not taken lightly and is a direct result of our plan to optimize and streamline our footprint in this region. We will transfer the work at this site to existing operations in the USA; we expect the process to conclude by the end of March of this year.

“We are making every effort to help our employees through this difficult time and are providing severance packages in accordance with company customs,” she added.

Flextronics Americas will lay off approximately 150 employees working at the plant.
