Projections: ‘Captain America’ Ready for Duty

31 Oct, 2011 By: John Latchem

The latest summer blockbuster hitting disc in the fourth quarter is Paramount’s Captain America: The First Avenger, which scored $176 million at the domestic box office. The title should have no trouble securing the top sales and rental spots for the week ending Oct. 30.

Disney’s latest animated feature, Winnie the Pooh, scored a very low-key $27 million at the box office, so it will be interesting to see how it fares against what should be a strong second week for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
