Shout! Factory Launching Its First 4K UHD Blu-ray Title June 7

Shout! Factory will release 'Journey to Space' on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc June 7, the first of six documentaries from the distributor in the 4K format.

The 4K version of the title will also include 3D Blu-ray and regular Blu-ray copies of the film, and can be pre-ordered on for $39.93 and  for $34.93. UHD viewing requires a compatible 4K Blu-ray Disc player and 4K HDTV. The title also will be released as a standalone Blu-ray, listed at Amazon for $19.99.

Narrated by Patrick Stewart and featuring extensive interviews with astronauts Chris Ferguson (commander of the final shuttle mission) and Serena Aunon (a new astronaut chosen for future flights), “Space” chronicles NASA’s goals traveling to Mars and capturing asteroids. The doc attempts to end speculation the space program died following the end of the shuttle program.

The film is co-produced by K2 Films, which handles funding, production oversight, distribution and marketing for Imax theatrical releases.

Future 4K UHD Blu-ray releases by Shout! Factory include Humpback Whales (narrated by Ewan Mcgregor), Flight of the Butterflies, Rocky Mountain Express, Wonders of the Arctic (Narrated By Victor Garber) and The Last Reef: Cities Beneath The Sea.
