Jamie Kennedy Teams With Yoostar2 Sep, 2009 By: John Latchem
Yoostar Entertainment Group has joined forces with actor Jamie Kennedy. Under the multifaceted agreement, Kennedy will create original, downloadable content to anchor of the Yoostar Comedy Channel, perform in viral Yoostar videos and participate in promotional activities for the brand that include a nationwide talent search.
The Yoostar system lets users star in movie scenes with the original actors and share their performances online. Yoostar will retail for $169.95 at Best Buy starting Sept. 8 and is already available at Bloomingdale’s and Yoostar.com. It includes a Web cam with built-in dual microphones and remote control, a portable green screen, a professional stand and PC-compatible software, plus 14 movie scenes.
A Mac version will be released later this year. Additional scenes are available at Yoostar.com for 99 cents to $3.99 per clip.
Kennedy will develop unique scenes in which users will be able act with or replace the star, creating their own takes on his brand of comedy. These scenes will be available to purchase and download via Yoostar’s Web site in the same way that users purchase movie and television scenes.
The Yoostar Comedy Channel launches in October, offering a wide range of comedy clips, including the “Yoo in the News” satirical take-offs on headline news clips.
“I think what the team behind Yoostar has accomplished is simply awesome,” Kennedy said. “It makes everyone a star, and I am so excited to be a part of it.”
