Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

The summer hit Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian will see single-disc DVD and Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack releases Dec. 1 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Fox also will release a “Monkey Mischief” two-disc DVD set for a limited time that includes more than 30 minutes of bonus content not available on the single-disc DVD version.

Bonuses in the “Monkey Mischief” edition ($34.98) include the featurettes “The Secret Life of a Monkey Movie Star: Life Off Camera,” “Show Me the Monkey,” “Monkey Business” and “Primate Prima Donnas,” as well as two games, “Monkey Slap” and “Abel and Dexter’s Flights of Fancy.”

The combo pack ($39.99) will include Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy versions of the film; several featurettes; a gag reel; a dozen deleted scenes; an alternate ending; an interactive museum scavenger hunt game; a behind-the-scenes with star Ben Stiller; commentaries; the bonuses from the “Monkey Mischief” edition; and Fox Movie Channel Presents featurettes.

Both the single DVD ($29.98) and “Monkey Mischief” versions will include the gag reel, six deleted scenes, an alternate ending, behind-the-scenes featurettes and commentaries.

The film, whose all-star cast includes Stiller, Amy Adams, Shawn Levy, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais and Owen Wilson, took in $177 million at the domestic box office.

Fox will promote the releases with a “Golden Ticket” giveaway. Partnering with Delta Vacations and the Smithsonian Museum, DVD and Blu-ray owners will have a chance to win a trip for four to Washington, D.C., where they’ll get a behind-the-scenes, all-access tour at the Smithsonian.

“As with any coveted treasure, everyone has a chance to win this holiday season. The Smithsonian Golden Ticket prize is a once in a lifetime event that keeps with the vein of the movie and will heighten the excitement for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,” said Mary Daily, EVP of marketing for Fox Home Entertainment.
