Fans hoping to get a Dollhouse: Season One limited-edition boxed set crashed the Foxstore.com server with excessive traffic when preorders opened July 6. The sets will be exclusively distributed at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The limited-edition Dollhouse: Season One comes in blue-embossed packaging with a letter from Joss Whedon. The sets are individually numbered with a run of 5,000, half on DVD (four-disc set $49.98) and half on Blu-ray (three-disc set $69.99). A limited number of copies will be available onsite for purchase.

After a short delay, presale orders were able to resume, though reports of error messages were still coming the next day.

The retail version of Dollhouse: Season One streets July 28, the week after Comic-Con.

The sets can be picked up at the Fox Booth (#1429). Photo ID is required for pickups of preorders, or buyers can designate a proxy during checkout.
