Anchor Bay Entertainment has secured distribution rights through the American Film Market (AFM) for the suspense thriller While She Was Out, starring Kim Basinger, to be released theatrically Dec. 12 and on DVD in 2009.
“Anchor Bay has been quite aggressive this past year in our search for talent driven films,” said Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment. “While She Was Out is exactly the type of film we want to distribute. Kim Basinger gives an amazing performance, and we are excited to be adding this film to our ever-expanding lineup.”
Basinger stars as a suburban housewife hunted by young thugs and left to fend for her life with only a toolbox. Besides Academy Award-winner Basinger (L.A. Confidential), the film features Lukas Haas (Alpha Dog) and was executive produced by Guillermo del Toro (director of the “Hellboy” films and Pan’s Labyrinth) and written and directed by Susan Montford (Shoot ’Em Up).
