So, which actor who played Jason Voorhees had the best murder scene in the “Friday the 13th” franchise?

“I did,” said Warrington Gillette from Friday the 13th Part 2.

“No,” argued C.J. Graham from Part 6. “Mine was better.”

Then the two “Jasons” remembered who was next to them: Kane Hodder, who played the hockey masked nightmare in parts 7-10. In addition to the highest body count, he may have had the best one of them all in Part 7, when Jason grabs a naked teen inside her sleeping bag, and repeatedly slams it against a tree.

“Yeah, that was a good one,” Hodder admitted.

It was only at Dark Delicacies and Emerald Knights bookstores in Burbank, Calif., on the night of Feb. 3 that delighted horror fans could hear a conversation like this, as Anchor Bay Entertainment brought together half a dozen actors who played Jason, and the director and producer of His Name Was Jason, a documentary celebrating 30 years of “Friday the 13th.”

“Not many franchises can say they have been around for 30 years,” Gillette said. “We take pride in all this, that’s for sure.”

Graham said he was especially happy to see Anchor Bay handle the release. “It’s about time, and I’m glad they’ve got it, because I know they’ll do a fantastic job.”

Hodder added he was glad Anchor Bay brought all the Jasons together for a reunion. “It’s great to see everyone. It’s rare that we’re able to all get together in one spot,” he said.

Floresha Schultheiss, VP of brand marketing for Anchor Bay, said the DVD is a must-have for anyone who loves the franchise.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with Dark Delicacies for this event,” she said. “The fans’ response to this title has been tremendous. Considering how many other classic and contemporary horror icons Anchor Bay has brought to DVD over the years, we’re extremely honored to add Jason Voorhees to our roster.”

Out in stores now, His Name Was Jason is packed with hours of bonus features, including interviews, several featurettes, fan films and more. Additionally, Paramount Home Entertainment recently re-released the first three Friday the 13th movies on DVD and the first film on Blu-ray Disc.
