‘Adventureland’ Opens on Blu-ray, DVD

26 May, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey

Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Miramax Aug. 25 offer director Greg Mottola’s (Superbad) latest comedy, Adventureland, on two-disc Blu-ray, two-disc DVD and single-disc DVD. Prebook is June 30.

The Blu-ray Disc ($44.99) comes with a digital copy of the late-’80s look at what could very well be one of the worst jobs for a young, college-educated man: amusement park worker. Featuring Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale), the film is part drama, part comedy.

Songs from The Cure, David Bowie, INXS and other 1980s bands make up the soundtrack, with deleted scenes, a making-of featurette, and a commentary on the two-disc Blu-ray and DVD options. The Blu-ray will also include a “testicle tapping” how-to in “Frigo’s Ball Tap,” a “Lisa P’s Guide to Style” featurette, and a “Welcome to Adventureland” series of commercials and more.
