‘Complicity’ Cast Sees Lessons to Be Learned

11 Oct, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

To some cast members of Complicity, there’s more than a simple thriller going on here. It could also be a cautionary tale for teens.

“It’s a teen-oriented thriller, a bad apple story, but I see it as something every 16-year-old kid in high school who’s struggling to be an adult should see,” said Logan Huffman (“V,” A Smile as Big as the Moon).

Complicity — which arrived on DVD and digital Oct. 8 from Inception Media Group — sees a teenage girl (Shoshana Bush of Dance Flick and Fired Up!) host a rager of a party when her parents leave town. Sounds like a typical teen party flick until the host’s friend (Heather Hemmens of Hellcats and The Dukes of Hazard) accuses a boy of rape.

What happens next is “like watching piranhas eating a piece of meat,” Huffman said, calling his character “a mean son-of-a-bitch.”

Vengeance, death, attempted coverups and general chaos ensues.

“It’s something that will definitely cause a discussion, once you realize that it’s something that could happen to any teen at a Friday night party,” Hemmens said.

Like Huffman, she’d rather viewers look at Complicity as more than a who-done-it, and approach it as a film with a lesson behind it.

“Although it’s heavy material, we did have a blast making it,” Hemmens said.

Complicity also stars Sean Young (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, No Way Out, Blade Runner), Haley Ramm (X Men: The Last Stand, Into the Wild) and Jenna Boyd (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Missing, The Hunted), and is directed by C.B. Harding (Ron White: Behavioral Problems, “The Osbournes”).
