Warner Bros. Names Arons

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has named Russell Arons as SVP of worldwide marketing.

Arons brings more than 15 years of brand management and entertainment marketing experience to the games division and will continue to work with brand marketing, product marketing, product publicity and consumer research for all WBIE franchises and titles.

“We have assembled an incredibly strong marketing organization at WBIE, and I am pleased to complete this structure with an executive of Russell’s caliber,” said Martin Tremblay, president of WBIE.

Most recently Arons worked at Electronic Arts, where she served since 2007 as head of marketing for the “EA Play” division, which includes
“The Sims” and “MySims” franchises, “Harry Potter” and the Hasbro portfolio.

“There are so many talented and experienced people at WBIE with a deep knowledge and love of games, which makes this a very exciting move for me,” Arons said. “With access to a wealth of well-known brands, WBIE has established itself as a serious presence in the industry, and I look forward to helping continue that trend of growth and success.”

Arons will remain at EA for now to assist with the transition and will officially join WBIE after the Independence Day holiday.

Arons also worked as VP of marketing at InfoSpace as well as VP and GM of the Barbie toy business at Mattel. In leading Barbie, she revitalized the brand through its expansion into home entertainment, live shows and the Web. Also at Mattel, she served as VP of the Entertainment/Male Action toy business.
